The Deputy Registrar for Alexander County Vital Recordings is the Alexander County Health Department’s Administrative Assistant. The Deputy Registrar is responsible for reviewing death certificates for accuracy and completeness, as well as preparing a copy for the Register of Deeds. Home birth certificates can also be completed with the Deputy Registrar. There is also an Assistant Deputy Registrar in the case of absence for the Deputy Registrar.
Criteria for filing a home birth certificate:
• Child is one year of age and under.
• Child was born in Alexander County.
• Child is currently living.
